On the DVD Alien Contact a fictional event is re-enacted where the US Government tries to keep the explosion of a UFO in 1947 secret. The film starts in 1996 when a press conference is given at the Pentagon by an Air Force general. He informs that the source of a series of signals, probably from outside the solar system, has been localized. Despite the subsequent civil unrest, the president decides to send a space explorer.
